On behalf of our client we are looking asap for a senior network IT consultant. The position is based in Munich and a permanent position.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provide significant contributions to the support and the evolution of the network monitoring tool set.
• Offer technical automation solutions that ensure complete monitoring of all relevant components
• provide an effective framework for automated incident recovery.
• Ensure that the monitoring is adaptive to cover new NW devices and new NW device types.
• Provide technical advice on NW monitoring scope, monitoring features and monitored attributes
• Undertake technical work to create, evolve and support automated solutions for service impact management and automated incident recovery, correlation and escalation in the NW area.
• Energize to the evolution of the monitoring framework in line with the actual requirements of our permanently changing NW infrastructure.
• Drive the evolution and expansion of the automation services to achieve high service level fulfillment.Qualification & Requirements for the position
• Solid understanding of network technology and protocols (MPLS, TCP, UDP, SNMP, OSI, VLAN, GWAN)
• Relevant experience in administration and programming of HP/OV NNM version 7.x.
• Familiarity of HP/OV NNM V8.x
• Familiarity with NW devices (CISCO, Brocade, F5).
• Relevant work experience in Shell programming, Perl, Python, XML.
• Programming skills preferable in Java.
• Basic database know how.
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with operations teams.
• Proficiency in English essential (written and spoken)
